and/or land encompasses a number of sculptural and photographic works that are presented in response to the architectural vernacular of Limerick city. McBride’s works for the 39th EVA international include an access ramp to the entrance of the Sailor’s Home; a sculptural collage on the perimeter hoarding of the building; and a series of photographic works in bespoke frames that are displayed on the walls of retail premises in Limerick city centre. McBride’s works are intentionally subtle interventions that are both integral and interrogative to the various sites that temporarily host these works; ambiguous embedded into spaces that are functionally self-evident or typically used for advertising promotion.
